Andanar: No room for corruption in Covid-19 vaccine purchase

OZAMIZ CITY, Feb. 17 – Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar assured that the government maintains its policy of being brand-neutral and there will be no room for corruption in it’s step to purchase COVID-19 vaccines, during a pocket engagement leading to the Pagdu-aw sa Ozamiz: Explain, Explain, Explain on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Tuesday joined the Pagdu-aw sa Ozamiz: Explain, Explain, Explain where he clarified that the government policy on the purchase of COVID-19 vaccine is to have a portfolio of it instead of leaning to just one brand. In an interview on Asenso Ozamiz News Channel, he said that the government will only distribute safe and effective vaccines which underwent rigorous processes by the vaccine panel of experts and were granted emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

PCOO chief bares priority projects for attached agencies

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar (PIA NCR file photo) CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 11 (PIA) Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Wednesday bared that priority projects are in place for attached agencies to support the national government and amplify its efforts. In a radio interview, Andanar said an P800 million budget has been set aside for the construction of the Visayas Media Hub in Metro Cebu to provide information suited for the Visayas audience. Also, the approved construction of a Government Strategic Communications Academy in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon will have its groundbreaking ceremony in June 2021, he announced. “We will finally have the first communications academy in the Philippines, where information officers from the barangay level up to the national government can convene for [capacity-building programs],” he said.

LGUs not allowed to buy own Covid-19 vaccines

February 06, 2021 PRESIDENTIAL Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar said local government units (LGUs) should not purchase coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines directly from the pharmaceutical company as LGUs are in a tripartite agreement with the National Government and the company. Dili pwede ang LGU nga modiretso, kailangan naay approval ang National Government, Andanar said. The local government must always accede to the national government. Meaning the national government will be the ones to purchase kay government to government man ni, he added. Several LGUs have recently announced that they are setting aside funds that will be used to purchase Covid-19 vaccines from the pharmaceutical company of their choice.
