ZICTA invites bids for 800 MHz band spectrum Tuesday 2 February 2021 | 14:24 CET | News The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) is inviting applications for spectrum in the 800 MHz band freed up by the digital broadcasting migration. ZICTA said the spectrum in the 800 MHz band is in very high demand and should therefore be subjected to a restricted grant procedure. The block of 2x10 MHz (801-811 MHz downlink with 842-852 MHz uplink) has a reserve price of USD 12.5 million. The spectrum should improve the quality of service and assist deployment of more extensive networks at cost-effective rates, the regulator said.
