LAHS News:
Isaac Ortega, a senior at Los Alamos High School (LAHS), is one of 14 New Mexico students named as winners of National Merit $2,500 Scholarships.
In addition, nine LAHS seniors are among 1,000 distinguished students receiving corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by about 140 corporations, company foundations and other business organizations.
Filippo Delzanno, Karin Ebey, Mirabell Gerts, Shena Han, Anthony Lestone, Griffin Light, Aidan McCleskey, Konstantin Nelson and Audrey Nolen were selected as winners of the National Merit Battelle Scholarship.

Among three contestants Friday, only Juliet Mayer correctly answered a question about Shakespeareâs âMacbeth.â Academically, Juliet was always at the top of her class. She was quiet and thoughtful but had a wry sense of humor that would percolate and suddenly appear. She was just a really lovely young lady. Wakefield Director of Development Ann-Charlotte Robinson A 2014 graduate of Wakefield School in The Plains became a Jeopardy! champion Friday night.
In her first appearance, Juliet Mayer answered the final Jeopardy! question correctly to capture the title and collect $23,800.
Ms. Mayer will return to the show Monday, broadcast at 7:30 p.m. on WJLA Channel 7.
