The South Bruce Peninsula Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee held its first meeting as an independent group in March last year.

Prior to the March meeting, the citizen-led group was an official Town of South Bruce Peninsula committee before some town reshuffling.
Committee co-chair Linda Isbester said the town still budgets money for the group and the committee still reports updates to council.
For years, the committee’s goal was to court new family doctors to the area and retain medical professionals who already called it home.
