A vehicle pulled over early Saturday morning in Montville matched the description of one that had been reported traveling the wrong way on the Gold Star Bridge in the same timeframe, Connecticut State Police said.
Mason Ethan Hart, 21, of 613 E. Main St., Norwich, was charged Saturday in Montville with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to reduce speed or move over for emergency vehicles.
According to an arrest summary from the state police, troopers were investigating a car crash on Interstate 395 between exits 5 and 6 when a call came through from dispatchers in Groton about a wrong-way driver on the Gold Star Bridge. The summary said the driver was reported traveling north in a southbound lane in a car with heavy rear-end damage and a dragging bumper.
