Recktenwald today appointed two individuals to fill judicial positions in the District and District Family Courts of the Second Circuit. Christopher M. Dunn has been appointed to the District Court, replacing Judge Kelsey Kawano, who is now sitting on the Circuit Court bench. Dunn has 25 years of trial experience, handling a high volume of cases representing privately-retained and court-appointed clients in District, Family and Circuit Courts, and administrative proceedings. He has been in his own private practice on Maui for the past 18 years, and previously was in private practice in Massachusetts. OAKLAND, Calif. - Sometime early in the new year, 85% of U.S. households will get a $600 Economic Impact Payment check or an electronic deposit for each adult, only half of what they got last spring. Children under age 17, will also get $600. That money is gonna be spent. Spent on rent, on food on basic necessities. It s gonna go into the economy so it pumps right back in, said Golden Gate University School of Business Dean Emeritus Terry Connelly. So, a married couple making up to $150,000 per year, with two children, would get a $2,400 payment.

The Maui News Eight Maui attorneys have been nominated for positions in District and Family Court in Maui’s 2nd Circuit Court, the Hawaii State Judiciary announced Thursday. Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald is seeking public comment on the following judicial nominees: • Lance D. Collins, who is currently employed at the Law Office of Lance D. Collins. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2005. • Angela-Jo L. Correa-Pei, who is currently employed as a strategy consultant at Kamehameha Schools. Correa-Pei is a graduate of UH’s William S. Richardson School of Law and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2000.
