Former Morton High School teacher Erin Kemp began a 90-day jail term Friday with her guilty plea to sexual conduct with one of her students. Kemp, 38, of Morton, will also serve two years of probation and be required to register as a sexual offender for life. One of two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse was dismissed in her plea agreement. Her crime carried a maximum seven-year prison term. She was escorted quietly from Tazewell County Circuit Judge Paul Gilfillan’s courtroom after the brief hearing without the opportunity to meet with about a dozen family members and friends who attended. Free on bond since she was charged, she will serve the full jail term under the agreement’s conditions.
