His death was initially ruled an overdose by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner s Office until funeral home personnel discovered a gunshot wound in his torso. A parish death investigator was issued a letter of reprimand as a result of the error.

(WAFB) - Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a fatal shooting in the 3700 block of Eaton Street Monday, Dec. 14. Police say they responded to a reported shooting early Monday afternoon. Authorities have identified the victim as 28-year-old Terrance Nealond of Baton Rouge and died at the scene. Linwood Watson, 20, was arrested in connection with Nealond’s death on Dec. 17. Watson was booked into EBR Parish Prison on charges of second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, according to BRPD.
