BBC bosses have shelved work on an adaptation of Alex Wheatle s book Crongton Knights after producer Noel Clarke was accused of sexual misconduct. Clarke and his staffmembers at Unstoppable Film & Television picked up the rights to the young adult novel and were developing the project when the star was accused of inappropriate behaviour in a The Guardian expose. The actor and producer, who has denied any wrongdoing, has lost a series of projects as a result of the drama - including, now, Crongton Knights. We are not progressing any projects with Noel Clarke at this time, a BBC spokesman tells Deadline.
The CW pulled
Bulletproof from its streaming services just a day after the allegations came to light on April 30. Meanwhile, Sky continued to explore ways of continuing the British drama, including potentially recasting Clarkeâs character Aaron Bishop. However, a Sky spokesperson has now confirmed that the broadcaster ââ¦will not be proceeding with any further series of Bulletproof.â
According to
Variety, Skyâs decision was made based on findings from an internal investigation into the series from producers Vertigo Films. The British production company continues to investigate, alongside All3Media, the company that backed Clarkeâs Unstoppable Film and Television. Last month, All3Media suspended Clarke and his business partner Jason Maza while a probe into Unstoppable is ongoing.
