A 94-year-old Wallaceburg man facing a murder charge in connection to the death of his 89-year-old wife will remain in custody for at least another week.
The man, who cannot be named due to a publication ban protecting the identity of his wife, appeared briefly in a Chatham court Friday via teleconference.

His lawyer, Greg McGivern, informed the court he has reviewed disclosure and will be meeting with his client next week at the South West Detention Centre in Windsor. McGivern requested the matter be adjourned to Jan. 29 in order to receive instructions from his client.

The 94-year-old Wallaceburg man charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 89-year-old wife will remain in custody while his lawyer awaits evidence in the case.
The man, who cannot be named due to a publication ban protecting the identity of the deceased, made a brief appearance Thursday in a Chatham courtroom via video from the South West Detention Centre in Windsor.

The man was charged Saturday with second-degree murder after Chatham-Kent police found his 89-year-old wife without vital signs at an apartment in Wallaceburg. She died at the scene, Chatham-Kent police said.
