Guwahati/ Dehradun/ Bhubaneswar/ West Godavari/ Thiruvananthapuram (Assam/ Uttarakhand/ Odisha/ Andhra Pradesh/ Kerala) [India], January 2 (ANI): A dry run for COVID-19 vaccine administration is being conducted on Saturday across all states and Union Territories of India.
This is the second round of dry run drill after the same was conducted in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Assam between December 23-29, 2020.
The dry run vaccination programme is being conducted at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati. The dry run is being conducted by all the states and Union Territories from Saturday.
Vaccination drill is being conducted in all states/UTs today in 116 districts across 259 sites.
New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Saturday stated that COVID-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost across the country. The Health Minister made the statement while talking to the media after reviewing the dry run of administering the COVID-19 vaccine at Maternity & Child Welfare (MCW) Centre in Daryaganj.
Asked if the
COVID-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost, like in Delhi, Vardhan replied that not just in Delhi, it will be free across the country.

New Delhi [India], January 2 (ANI): Congress leader Raashid Alvi backed Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav after the latter had said that he will not get vaccinated against COVID-19 for now as the BJP government cannot be trusted. I will not say that Akhilesh Yadav s statements are wrong. His doubts are valid, Alvi told reporters here.
Alvi, however, added that there is no danger to the common people from the COVID vaccine but there will be apprehension among opposition leaders .
Alvi condemned remarks of controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik in which he reportedly said that temples should not be allowed in an Islamic country in the context of demolition of a Hindu temple in Pakistan.

Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 3 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ashutosh Sinha on Saturday claimed that people fear that COVID-19 vaccine can make them impotent. Sinha also backed party chief Akhilesh Yadav after the latter had said that he would not get vaccinated against COVID-19. If honourable Akhilesh Yadav has said this, then there will be something serious. We do not believe in the machinery of the government. He has said this based on facts. If he is not vaccinating himself, then I think COVID-19 vaccine might contain something, which can cause harm. Tomorrow, people will say the vaccine was given to kill/decrease the population. You can even become impotent, anything can happen, Sinha, SP Mirzapur MLC said while speaking to ANI.
