“Of all of these things that we have done, I am sure and I am confident to tell all of you that we were able to improve our health system capacity,” said DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.
Vergeire said that the country now has a total of 212 licensed-laboratories for COVID-19 testing, while the temporary treatment and monitoring facilities nationwide currently stood at 11,000, adding that all health protocols “are in place.”
“I guess that being said sa tingin ko naman yung response natin ay naging appropriate although hindi po namin sinasabi na naging perpekto, marami po tayong mga naging gaps dito sa mga ginagawa natin but tuloy tuloy pa rin tayo to further improve the system [I guess that being said, I think our response has been appropriate although we are not saying that it’s perfect. We also have gaps in our efforts but we will continue to further improve the system],” she said.
