Summit to build global confidence in vaccines to be convened by UK Government
The UK Government will convene a virtual Global Vaccine Confidence Summit on June 2nd, bringing together experts in the public and private sector.
The Summit will look at innovative solutions to tackle misinformation and support confidence in life-saving COVID-19 vaccines around the world.
Speakers at the summit will include Health Secretary Matt Hancock and Professor Heidi Larson, Founding Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project, with further international speakers to be announced on G7 social channels in the coming weeks

The Center for Countering Digital Hate recently shared research suggesting that just 12 people are responsible for many of the false claims about covid vaccines that are posted on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The report, titled The Disinformation Dozen, details how these 12 people produced 65% of all anti-vaccine narratives more than 812,000 posts on various social media channels. These posters were selected based on three criteria: a large number of followers, high volume of anti-vaccine content, and rapid growth on their social media account in the last two months. Some of them had multiple accounts focused on “natural health” and sold books and other products based on this misinformation.
was convened jointly by the CSIS Global Health Policy Center and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine’s Vaccine Confidence Project™ with the goal of assessing the implications of misinformation and vaccine confidence for U.S. national security within the Covid-19 context. This consensus document is the culmination of a year’s worth of consultations with a bipartisan and international group of 25 experts from public health, cybersecurity, public opinion research, and communications. The experts focused on two key questions: In what ways do vaccine hesitancy and misinformation impact national security? And what are the concrete, feasible steps that the U.S. government, Congress, social media, industry, advocates, and community leaders should stand behind to improve Americans’ health and security?
