County: 99.6% of Vaccine First Doses Received Have Been Administered
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services has received a total of 27,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so far. Local health officials say 99.6 % of that total have been administered as of Jan. 21.
During his weekly COVID-19 virtual media briefing on Thursday, County Executive Marc Elrich stressed ongoing issues regarding vaccine allotments from the state. He says although there’s a shortage, the doses are rolling out as the county gets them.
“We need a larger allocation from the state to meet our population,” said Elrich.
In addition, the county has started to pre-register residents to receive the vaccine once it becomes available. More than 75,000 people have signed up for alerts, according to Elrich.
