Bengalur: High drama was witnessed in Gokak town of Belagavi district this noon when a person, said to be a staunch follower of former Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, was critically injured after he jumped on the burning tyre at Basaveshwara Circle in Gokak.
This incident occurred when the followers of Jarkiholi were burning tyres to block movement of vehicles in the town against what they termed as ‘deep-rooted conspiracy’ to besmirch the image of their leader following the release of the sex CD to the media by social activist Dinesh Kalahalli, who alleged that the woman in the video clips was enticed by the Minister with a Government job offer.

BENGALURU: Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who has resigned over an alleged sex tape, is not the first minister to go. Sex scandals are not new in the State’s politics. In Karnataka, in the last 10 years, at least five ministers, four from BJP, have resigned over sex tape allegations or for allegedly watching porn clippings inside the assembly. Experts and political leaders say such incidents will not embarrass the person, but the party and the government.
In 2010, the then Food and Civil Supplies Minister Hartalu Halappa, a close aide of then CM Yediyurappa, resigned after his name figured in an alleged sexual misconduct with his friend’s wife in Shivamogga. Two years later, three ministers in the BJP government C C Patil, Laxman Savadi and Krishna Palemar resigned from their ministerial posts after they were caught allegedly watching porn videos in the Assembly hall during the session.

Bengaluru: The B.S. Yediyurappa-led Karnataka government found itself in a controversy Tuesday with a new sex scandal, allegedly involving Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, coming to light in the state.
A ‘sex CD’ allegedly featuring the minister has surfaced and a complaint filed with the police.
This comes just over a month after Congress leader Prakash Rathod was allegedly found browsing through obscene clips on his mobile phone when the state’s Legislative Council was in session.
In the Jarkiholi case, the Central Division of Bengaluru Police registered a complaint filed by social activist Dinesh Kalahalli, who alleged that sexual favours were sought from the woman in the video by the minister in exchange for a job opportunity.
