Approximately 800 properties in Briarhill and Doughiska affected by burst watermain

Galway Bay FM 14 March 2021 print Galway Bay FM Newsroom – People in the Briarhill and Doughiska areas of the city have been advised by Irish Water and Galway City Council that their supply of water will be affected for most of today after a watermain burst on the Monivea Road, near the Clayton hotel. The burst occurred during the night and approximately 800 properties in the Briarhill and Doughiska areas are affected. It is likely water supply will be off until 5pm but it may take 2-3 hours for normal supply to return. A crew is on the way and are arranging traffic management for the repair.

Boil Water Notice for Teeranea/Lettermore businesses and residents remains in place

Galway Bay FM 6 March 2021 print Galway Bay FM Newsroom – Irish Water and Galway County Council would like to remind customers supplied by the Teeranea/Lettermore Pubic Water Supply that the Boil Water Notice issued for the supply on February 20th remains in place. This is due to ongoing operational and mechanical issues at the water treatment plant that have resulted in the treatment process being compromised. The notice also applies to the Lettercallow Group Water Scheme. Over 900 customers who are supplied by the Teeranea/Lettermore Public Water Supply and the Lettercallow Group Water Scheme are advised that they must boil their water before drinking and preparing food.
