MSP welcomes new raft of benefits to help the vulnerable

INVERCLYDE S MSP has welcomed the forthcoming roll out of a new raft of benefits that will help those most in need in Inverclyde. The next one to be introduced by Social Security Scotland will be Child Disability Payment, with applications opening next year. This will be followed by the Adult Disability Payment - and those who are on Personal Independent Payment or Disability Living Allowance will be automatically switched to the new system and not have to face another Departmenr for Work and Pensions face-to-face assessment. Mr McMillan said: “The transition from the UK Government benefits to the new Scottish benefits will be stress-free and people in Inverclyde will have peace of mind that they will not have to go through what can be a distressing DWP assessment.
