Effective July 1, 2021, Administrators of Assisted Living Communities and Administrators of Personal Care Homes with twenty-five (25) beds or more must hold licenses issued by the Georgia State Board of Long-Term Care Facility Administrators. In February 2020, the Georgia Legislature approved House Bill 987, aimed at increasing protection for residents of assisted living facilities and personal care homes. One component of the Bill was to introduce a licensing requirement for Assisted Living Community Administrators and Personal Care Home Administrators. Getting COVID-19 Vaccines Closer to Home

Over the past week there has been a great deal of concern about the availability of COVID-19 vaccines in Canada. The federal government, which is responsible for the supply of these vaccines, has seen their shipments of the two approved vaccines in Canada reduced significantly and there have been other concerning comments from countries that manufacture the vaccines that have caused questions about the reliability of supply. As a result, Canada’s position in the world when it comes to vaccine distribution is now worse than 30 other nations and falling further behind.
First-time moms are waiting with bated breath for the revised COVID-19 restrictions as their newborn babies may finally be allowed to meet their relatives in-person.
“It takes a village to raise a child,” is how the saying goes and unfortunately those proverbial villages have been empty in recent months. According to Steinbach Family Resource Centre Executive Director Jo-Anne Dalton, the primary struggle for mothers since the pandemic set in has been that lack of personal connection.
“Anybody who was pregnant pre-pandemic has had a baby born in this ten-month period,” she states. “These babies who are six months to a year old right now, a lot of them have never even met their grandparents.”
