New Delhi, Dec 29 : Even as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved further in several high-profile cases, both central agencies remained entangled in a legal battle for the extradition of now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines founder Vijay Mallya and fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi.
The CBI and the ED made progress in several cases like the ICICI-Videocon loan case involving former bank Chair and Managing Director Chanda Kochhar, and Yes Bank scam case involving its founder Rana Kapoor.

Mumbai, Dec 18: A special PMLA court in Mumbai has issued notices to three family members of late gangster Iqbal Mirchi under the fugitive economic offenders law, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Thursday.
The notice has been issued against Junaid Iqbal Memon, Asif Iqbal Memon (sons of Mirchi) and Hajra Memon (wife) under section 10(4) of the Fugitive Economic Offenders (FEO) Act of 2018, the central agency said in a statement.
The ED had moved the court early this month (December 3) to get the three family members of Mirchi declared as violators of this law.
