Vanguard News SON seals Lagos plaza over adulteration of lubricants On Kindly Share This Story: The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Thursday sealed a plaza at the Auto Spare Parts and Machineries Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) market, Lagos Trade Fair Complex, over adulteration of established lubricants. SON said that the move was to guard against prevalence of motor accidents and machine breakdown, particularly during the Yuletide resulting from the use of the adulterated lubricants. Issa Sulaimon, SON Coordinator, Surveillance, Intelligence and Monitoring (SIM) Unit, during the exercise, stressed the Standards body’s commitment to the production of quality locally manufactured lubricants.

Lafarge Africa receives MANCAP certificates from SON

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 24 December 2020 The Standards Organisation of Nigeria has presented the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme product quality certificates to Lafarge Africa Plc, Nigeria’s operations of the building materials giant, LafargeHolcim. A statement on Wednesday issued by the Director, Communications, Public Affairs and Sustainable Development, Lafarge, Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, stated that the certificate was presented after products from the company’s Mfamosing Plant satisfactorily met confirmatory and standardisation requirements set by SON. It described the Mfamosing plant as a modern production facility sited in Cross River State with an annual cement production capacity of 5MMT. According to the company, the presentation of the MANCAP certifications further demonstrates Lafarge Africa Plc’s commitment to ensuring quality assurance and compliance with the relevant product standards within the regulatory framework of the government.

Share The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has presented the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) product quality certificates to Lafarge Africa Plc, Nigeria’s operations of the world’s leading building materials giant, LafargeHolcim (LH). The presentation comes after products from the company’s Mfamosing Plant satisfactorily met confirmatory and standardisation requirements set by SON. While presenting the certificates, Mallam Farouk A. Salim, Director General of SON, who was represented by Mr Ogbuji Michael Chukuwudi, State Coordinator, SON, Cross River State, commended Lafarge Africa for satisfactorily meeting the prescribed requirement for certifications and urged them to continually ensure high-quality control at all times.
