The Yankees first baseman praised the improvements the Yankees have made to their roster this offseason.
Introducing Yankees Insider:
Among Cashman’s biggest additions have been re-signing star second baseman DJ LeMahieu, signing two-time Cy Young winner Corey Kluber and trading with the Pirates to get righty Jameson Taillon.
“We got The Machine back,” Voit said, referring to LeMahieu, at a virtual ceremony to accept a Thurman Munson award. “Life is good. He’s a great teammate, great leader. I really am stoked to have him back. Really was great getting a phone call from him right before he signed, saying he’s coming back. It’s great that we get to have him, hopefully, in New York for the rest of his career. He’s the best hitter in baseball and he’s the table setter for us and I think that was key for us in getting him back.”
