A man accused of sexually abusing two children pleaded guilty to amended charges in 1st District Court on Wednesday.
Lee Earl Poorte, 62, pleaded guilty to five counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a child and five counts of second-degree forcible sexual abuse.
Initially charged with 10 first-degree felonies and 10 second-degree felonies, the remaining charges against Poorte were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Documents filed with the court state the incidents began in January 2016 and continued over 18 months.

Cache County prosecutor Dane Murray told the court Poorte inappropriately touched the breasts of two underage victims â one over the age of 14 and the other under the age of 13. Documents state the abuse took place over and under the clothing.
A 74-year-old man accused of sexually abusing children was set to appear for a preliminary hearing during his 1st District Court appearance on Wednesday.
Roberto Gustavo Ponce faces 10 counts of first-degree aggravated sexual abuse of a child for incidents alleged to have happened around Jan. 1.
During his appearance in court via video call from the Cache County Jail, Ponceâs defense counsel asked the court for a preliminary hearing to determine probable cause for the charges leveled against him.
The hearing is slated for April 21.

An affidavit filed with the court alleges Ponce inappropriately touched two children over and under their clothing. Both of the alleged victims are under the age of 10, police wrote.
Wayne Bachmann, 70, was ordered to be held in the Cache County Jail after missing several 1st District Court appearances, having multiple warrants issued for his arrest and refusing to answer the courtâs questions on Monday.
Bachmann faces one third-degree count of failing to stop at command of police and six misdemeanors and infractions alleged to have happened in September 2019.
Documents filed with the court state Cache County Sheriffâs deputies attempted to pull Bachmann over while operating a vehicle that hadnât been registered for six years. Deputies wrote they had prior interactions with Bachmann and knew he didnât have a valid driverâs license. Bachmann was followed by deputies for nearly five blocks before stopping in front of a home in Hyrum; deputies wrote Bachman refused to exit the vehicle, keeping the doors locked and the windows rolled up.
An Idaho man accused of threatening individuals with a paintball gun resembling a pistol-grip shotgun was denied release from jail during his appearance in 1st District Court on Monday.
Daicen Blair Montandon, 20, faces three third-degree counts of retaliation against a witness, third-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree criminal mischief in addition to other felony and misdemeanor charges for incidents alleged to have taken place in March.
During Montandonâs court appearance via call from the Cache County Jail, Cache County prosecutors argued for his continued detention citing the facts in the case and the potential threat to the victims.
