A man in the area had died at home on the 24th December and a subsequent PCR test has identified him as a COVID-19 infected. His body was taken to the Avissawella Hospital. PCR tests conducted on 40 people who have visited his home on the news of his demise, have confirmed that 26 were infected with COVID-19. Thereafter, steps were taken to isolate the Galagedara area in Padukka. Meanwhile, the Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) General announced that the isolation imposed on the Kosgama police area has been lifted with immediate effect.
