Imo prison attack: Resign now that you are in trouble - Biafra group tells Gov Uzodinma

Biafra Nations League, BNL has asked the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to resign immediately following the attacks on the state police headquarters and the correctional centre. The group said that the Governor found himself in the current situation after he invited the military to attack members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Eastern Security Network, ESN. Princewill Chimezie Richard, National Leader of the BNL made the claim while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State on Monday. According to him, many prisoners languishing in the correctional centres are innocent of the offences they were accused of.

WAEC gets new Chairman

Essuman’s tenure is for a period of three years from March 2021 to March 2024 in line with the Council’s Convention. The Head of the Ghana Delegation, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, was elected Vice-Chairman of the Council for the period of one year from March 2021 to March 2022.   According to a statement issued by WAEC Head of Public Affairs in Ghana, Mr Abiodun Aduloju, the 69th meeting, which held online from March 22 – 26, 2021, was declared open by the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In his keynote address, President Akufo-Addo described WAEC as a dominant institution in the West African sub-region, which had consistently produced leaders in various fields of endeavour and a workforce to drive the economy.

In a statement issued by its President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, OYC issued a 14-day ultimatum to security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book. 3. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), on Wednesday, named a Ghanaian professor, Ato Essuman as its 20th chairman. A statement by the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Mr Abiodun Adukoju, noted that Essuman takes over from Mr Baboucarr Bouy from the Gambia for three years.
