JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are
almost completely ready for the 2021 NFL Draft.
As for finalizing what the team officially will do with the No. 1 overall selection, Head Coach Urban Meyer said that won t happen until later this week.
That s when Meyer and General Manager Trent Baalke will meet with Owner Shad Khan. Ultimately, the owner is going to pull that ticket on that one, Meyer said Wednesday afternoon during a media availability with Baalke to discuss next week s 2021 NFL Draft. We re going to have a great meeting and I imagine we ll get closer to a decision.
JACKSONVILLE – Defensive linemen can be found in this draft.
Listening to draft analysts, they will tell you that s true about any position in any draft – no matter the perception of a position in a particular year.
The key is finding the right player, one who will develop. And to hear analysts tell it, that absolutely will be necessary in the 2021 NFL Draft when it comes to finding a front-line defensive tackle in what is widely considered a weaker-than-usual draft at the position. It s probably one of the worst defensive tackle groups that we ve had in the last decade, NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. It s just not very good. I think there s a good chance we don t see a defensive tackle go in the first round. So, it s not a great year for defensive tackle.
