At least 11 people were killed and eight injured on Tuesday when a passenger coach overturned on the Quetta-Karachi road near Uthal in Balochistan s Lasbela district, officials said.
The driver of the coach, which was headed from Panjgur to Karachi, was speeding, Levies sources said.
Soon after the accident, rescue services arrived at the scene and used heavy machinery to lift the vehicle so that people trapped under it could be rescued, officials added.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information Bushra Rind said that the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Jam Kamal is laying a network of roads in the remote areas of Balochistan to improve transportation facilities for the people.
CM inaugurates Hub road

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Saturday inaugurated the Hub Western Bypass Road which connects the industrial city to Karachi and laid the foundation stone of the Eastern Bypass Road project.
The Eastern Bypass Road project consisting 5-kilometres road will connect Hub with Saqran Road and will be completed in a short period of one year. The road will be constructed at a cost of Rs150 million, while the Western Bypass Road project completed at a cost of Rs630 million.
The ceremony was attended by Balochistan Parliamentary Secretary on Minority Affairs Dinesh Kumar and former provincial minister Ali Baloch.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal held a meeting on prison reforms at the CM House on Tuesday.
The meeting also discussed the progress on the Quetta Safe City Project.
While briefing the meeting, the Additional Chief Secretary Home Affairs said that provision of health facilities, skill development, religious and formal education and better food to the inmates in all the prisons of the province will be provided under the reform programme for better management of prisons.
