SCREENGRAB Pakistan has extended condolences to India over loss of precious lives due to flash floods caused by glacier break-off in northern Indian and prayed for the early recovery of those missing. Around 125 people were missing in Uttarakhand state after a Himalayan glacier broke and swept away a small hydroelectric dam on Sunday, with floods forcing the evacuation of villages downstream.

Highlights All the schools are instructed to maintain proper arrangements of social distancing, masks and sanitises. The students with proper permission from their parents/ guardians will only be allowed to attend the classes. The students are not required to attend physical classes compulsorily, they will have a choice to attend it or not. Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has decided to reopen all the schools from February 8 for classes 6 to 12.  Instructions have been issued to appoint a nodal officer in order to follow the COVID-19 protocol in the schools. All the schools are instructed to maintain proper arrangements of social distancing, masks and sanitises.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hailed the Union Budget 2021-22 as the budget of Self-Reliant India. All sections of the society have been taken care of in this Budget. I believe this is the Budget to turn the disaster into an opportunity during COVID pandemic, he told ANI. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat also lauded the budget for strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat . Farmers have been provoked against agricultural laws. These agricultural laws are in the interest of farmers, he added.
