New Delhi, Jan 14: Our ultimate objective is to win future conflicts with home made solutions, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat said. The comments came after the Narendra Modi led government approved the procurement of 83 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas fighter jets for the Indian Air Force.
The CDS said that it is a boost for the Centre s Make in India initiative and the ultimate objective would be to reach a stage where the country can win conflicts with home made weapon systems.

Leh (Ladakh) [India], January 11 (ANI): Amid the ongoing military standoff with China, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on Monday visited Ladakh sector and reviewed operational preparedness at Line of Actual Control (LAC). Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat arrived at Ladakh today and was received by Lt Gen YK Joshi, Army Commander, Northern Command. He reviewed operational preparedness and called on Lieutenant Governor Radha Krishna Mathur, said Northern Command, Indian Army.

Leh: Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat is underway a visit to Ladakh sector where he would be briefed on the current situation at the Line of Actual Control by the top commanders of the Leh-based ‘Fire and Fury Corps’.
He would also be informed on the operational readiness of the forces deployed there, news agency ANI reported. The visit of the CDS comes amidst the ongoing military conflict with China. General Rawat is also expected to meet troops from other forces also during the visit.
