Victorian authorities are investigating the source of four new COVID-19 cases, ahead of Melbourne and the regions moving to eased restrictions on Friday.
Health authorities in Victoria, NSW and Queensland are scrambling to track down hundreds of people who may have been exposed to the virus during their interstate trip.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Victoria has fallen for the third day in a row. There are now 78 active cases statewide.
The drop in active cases means that since Tuesday there have been more people recovering from COVID-19 than testing positive for the virus.

More than 200 of Melbourne’s leading figures in the arts, entertainment and hospitality have signed an open letter pleading with the Chief Health Officer and government to ease venue restrictions as quickly as possible in the wake of the ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown.

They say they urgently need a roadmap and timeline to return to pre-lockdown settings, in order to plan and survive. The recent fourth extended lockdown in Melbourne has further devastated these industries, the letter says.
