A breach inside a Melbourne quarantine hotel sent the Victorian capital into a 112-day lockdown last year, claimed more than 800 lives and infected thousands.
A much more contagious strain of COVID-19 broke out of hotel quarantine in Brisbane last week, but there is no evidence it has led to widespread community transmission, and the city s lockdown lasted just three days.
A combination of good luck and good management has seen Brisbane avoid a long lockdown.
