Murder probe after pensioner who was attacked in home on Christmas Eve dies A PENSIONER has died in hospital four weeks after he was assaulted in his own home. Shortly before 3pm on Christmas Eve police were called to an address on Deansfield Close, Sunderland, following a report of a disturbance. Officers attended and found Harry Conlon, 77, with injuries to his head consistent with having been assaulted. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on Monday evening. An investigation was launched immediately after the incident with detectives wanting to determine the circumstances surrounding how Harry came to suffer his injuries.
