Revellers snap up rentals for gatherings as city becomes illegal house party capital of Scotland Glasgow has become the illegal house party capital of Scotland, with revelers snapping-up rental properties to host gatherings.  Data published by Police Scotland has revealed officers attended the highest number of call-outs to illegal parties than any other area of Scotland. Since coronavirus legislation was introduced on August 23 last year, Greater Glasgow Police Division has been alerted to almost 5000 parties within the area.  The North West was revealed to attract the highest number of callouts - with officers shutting down 223 parties between August 23 and January 8. Glasgow East saw 146 call-outs during the same period.

Police warning: Dumbarton hill walkers urged to take care | Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter

POLICE Scotland have urged the public to take care hill walking around areas like Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Over the past two months police have received 46 calls to search and rescue incidents across the country, the most recent taking place at Ben Lomond where the Lomond Mountain Rescue Team had to escort two hillwalkers down during perilous conditions. Both women were eventually charged by police. Access to a number of popular beauty spots has also been restricted by inconsiderate parking and large numbers of people travelling for outdoor recreation. Assistant Chief Constable Alan Speirs said: “I fully appreciate that the restrictions affect how we live our lives and spend our free time, however, the best way to stay safe is to stay at home.
