Billed as the region’s response to the government’s ‘levelling up agenda’, the document - entitled ‘Our Place, Our Time’ - sets out how the incumbent mayor will improve transport, housing and jobs if re-elected.

Billed as the region’s response to the government’s ‘levelling up agenda’, the document – entitled ‘Our Place, Our Time’ – sets out how the incumbent mayor will improve transport, housing and jobs if re-elected.
‘Repairing the damage’ to Greater Manchester Police, which went into special measures last year after a damning inspection report found it had failed to record 80,000 crimes, is listed as a ‘high ongoing priority’.
The manifesto also sets out the case for the government giving more powers to Greater Manchester, including giving our leaders more control over running railway stations and the powers to suspend Right-to-Buy until more council housing stock becomes available.
Three police officers GREATER Manchester Police (GMP) has set out how it has begun to tackle concerns raised in a damning report last year. The force was placed in special measures after Her Majesty s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services examined it. Among the findings, which were published in December, it was discovered that more than 80,000 crimes had not been recorded and its service to victims of crime was a serious cause of concern . The report led to Chief Constable Ian Hopkins leaving the force. Four months on, GMP has now given an update on the work being done to regain the confidence of the public .

A disgraced policeman who took and shared photos of crime scenes on WhatsApp and called a stab victim a d has been barred from the force after his girlfriend reported him when they split up.
PC Michael Atkin of South Yorkshire Police used his personal phone to take the pictures while on the job before sending them to his partner.
A misconduct hearing at South Yorkshire Police HQ yesterday was told Atkin sent one photo of a stab victim along with the words: He s a d .
On another occasion, he WhatsApped his partner with a picture of a man in hospital with a caption indicating he deserved what he got, the hearing was told.
