LAHORE: Adviser to Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Barrister Shehzad Akbar met Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Saturday and discussed with him matters of mutual interest, political and important issues.
The duo congratulated the recently elected chairman and deputy chairman Senate on their victory.
Usman Buzdar and Shehzad Akbar also congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan on the success of the government candidates in the Senate elections.
Both the leaders strongly condemned the attempts of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to allegedly make the institutions controversial.
Usman Buzdar pledged that no one would be allowed to malign the national institutions and those who were involved in the attempt were not the well-wisher of the country.

LAHORE: The Punjab government finally removed Gujranwala Regional Police Officer (RPO) Riaz Nazir Gara and Divisional Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah from their positions in the wake of the Daska by-election controversy.
The action was taken against both officers of the Pakistan Police Service and the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) in compliance with the recommendations of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The commission, in its strongly-worded recommendations, had demanded removal of both the officers from the posts on complaints of alleged rigging , aerial firing to harass voters and mismanagement, particularly, on the polling day in the NA-75 of Daska.
LAHORE: The government has suspended the notification of taking over building control of 15 prime roads in the city district by the deputy commissioner-led high level design committee reportedly over the concerns shown by the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) of Pakistan.
The association had written a complaint to Prime Minister Imran Khan against the notification.
“On Jan 23, Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik had issued a notification, declaring 15 city roads to be part of the areas controlled by design committee. However, the notification was suspended after the PM took notice of ABAD’s complaint to him that had termed the move against the spirit of facilitating business something on the priority list of the government,” an official source told Dawn on Thursday.
