Winchester hospital receives grant for education and equipment January 2, 2021 at 15 h 03 min Reading time: 2 min The Winchester District Memorial Hospital WINCHESTER, Ontario – The WDMH Foundation has received $95,193 in grant funding from the CMA Foundation’s COVID-19 Community Hospital Fund. The funds will be used to purchase new equipment and to support focused training and education for critical care nurses. The CMA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Canadian Medical Association and provides impactful charitable giving that furthers excellence in health care. This funding is part of the CMA Foundation’s COVID-19 relief initiative to support those on the frontline of this pandemic.

The parent company of LewisGale Medical Center in Salem and other LewisGale hospitals, HCA, is calling on everyone to keep lights up for healthcare heroes through January. “Our healthcare workers have been on the frontlines for nine months now. It’s been a hard struggle, it’s been a long pandemic and a lot of unknowns for them to deal with and yet they have relentlessly and tirelessly stayed on the frontlines making sure the public, our patients, our families and their families were safe,” said Jan Gannon, Chief Nursing Officer.

Hendry County frontline healthcare workers receive first dose of Moderna vaccine CLEWISTON, Fla. – Frontline healthcare workers at Hendry Regional Medical Center received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday. HRMC received 300 doses of the vaccine in its first shipment, however it expects more to continue to arrive in the coming months. “We are excited to be able to offer our healthcare heroes the opportunity to be vaccinated; they have all been working diligently and selflessly for our community from day one of this pandemic,” stated Rebecca Springer, Chief Nursing Officer. “We look forward to being able to offer the vaccine to everyone in the community in the coming months when vaccines are widely available.”

Senior health and social care appointments Published: Part of: New Chief Executive of NHS Scotland, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer appointed. Health Secretary Jeane Freeman has welcomed the appointment of three new health and social care leaders in the Scottish Government. Caroline Lamb has been appointed Chief Executive of NHS Scotland and Scottish Government Director General Health and Social Care. A former Chief Executive of NHS Education for Scotland, Ms Lamb joined the Scottish Government in 2019. Since March 2020 she has supported the response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic by overseeing Test and Protect and the Vaccination Programme. Ms Lamb is expected to take up post in January 2021.
