Ireland s lockdown exit has been given a boost after the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) recommended the Johnson & Johnson vaccine should be used for those aged 50 and older. People aged 50 to 59 were originally expected to be vaccinated in June but this will be brought forward, with 550,000 people in their 50s set to be offered a jab earlier than planned, the Irish Independent reports.
