Prime Minister Scott Morrison has abandoned the government's COVID-19 vaccine rollout target saying he hopes all Australians will get their first shot by the end of the year but that it can't be guaranteed. Australia's Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly says phases 1a and 1b of the vaccine rollout will be finished by the middle of the year but many have criticised the slower-than-promised pace of the rollout.

Five per cent of the world population has been fully vaccinated against the Covid-19. But as per a recent report, most of the vaccines are going to the wealthiest nations.
An analysis of data collected by the Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker has revealed that as of now, countries making up the least-wealthy 11 per cent have gotten around 1.6 per cent of the vaccines administered.
While the United States, United Kingdom and UAE and Israel have been providing as many vaccine doses as possible to their countrymen, the worldâs least wealthy continent, Africa, remains as the least vaccinated region.

The Australian manufacturer of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine says it still plans to fill a federal government order of 50 million doses, despite health authorities recommending a different vaccine be preferred for those under 50 years of age.
