Image Source: IANS News Cuttack, Feb 5 : The district administration in Odisha s Cuttack has warned of withholding salaries of health and Anganwadi workers who refused to take Covid-19 vaccines after registration. In a directive, Cuttack District Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani said such employees cannot withdraw their salaries if they do not take the jab by February 10. It is found that a large number of health workers/anganwadi workers who have registered under different establishments are not turning up for Covid-19 vaccination. Dubraj Rana and Manas Karali complained of uneasiness a day after receiving the injections. They have been admitted to the hospital and are being kept under observation. According to Dubraj, he had received the shot January 16 when vaccination was launched across India. “After receiving the Covaxin shot, I attended to my duties before going home. When I was doing my duty Sunday, I suddenly felt feverish. I also felt numbness in my left hand and it seemed that the hand was getting paralysed.” Manas also narrated the same reactions.

Schools reopened for students of Class 10 and 12 in Odisha on January 8, after remaining closed for over 9 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As many as 31 new infections detected in the district. Among them 90 percent are teachers and they would be barred from attending schools, said Patra.
