Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dutse LGA of Jigawa State, Malam Yakubu Ibrahim, has been hospitalised following the beating he received on Monday by aggrieved members of his party.
The development followed the announcement of the names of the APC’s candidates for the forthcoming local government election in the state, scheduled for next month. Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Auwal Danladi Sankara, had in a statement, announced Bala Chamo as the APC’s candidate for Dutse LGA.
Nwoye spoke at the maiden summit organized by the Enugu Youth Forum on Monday in Enugu.
He is the patron of the youth organization.
The chairman, who spoke passionately about the current situation of the country, said those making inflammatory statements were putting the youths in danger.
He said, “what matters in every situation, we use words to bring peace, to bring calm, we also use words to bring disorder and introduce war.
“People making incendiary statements, inciting statements, they are not ordinary people, they are leaders, and they are not telling the whole truth, they are not telling nothing but the truth.
As tongues continue to wag over the unequivocal restatement of the Minister of Transportation and South-South Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, of his position to support the emergence of a Rivers Governor from the riverine communities in the 2023 elections, erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and chieftain of the APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, says the Minister’s resolve is on the standpoint of equity and reflects the principle of fundamental fairness and justice which are the basic axioms upon which the foundation of the All Progressives Congress is anchored.

NATIONAL Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Thursday said that the First Lady, Dr. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari by her sheer attention to the voiceless and lowly of society, has won for herself the identity of a beacon of conscientious leadership.
Asiwaju Tinubu, who stated this yesterday at the public presentation of a book titled “Aisha Buhari: Being Different”, written by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Administration and Women Affairs, Office of the First Lady, Dr Hajo Sani, said that Mrs Buhari had played both uplifting and unifying roles for the country.

DAILY POST reports that political tension is heightening in Enugu State by the day with people with different interests canvassing for all forms of zoning formula for the governorship position.
The current holder of the office, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwunayi is from the Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
Before Ugwuanyi took over in 2015, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani from Enugu East Senatorial zone served for 8 years and handed over to Ugwuanyi’s predecessor, Barr. Sullivan Chime from Enugu West.
