ESCONDIDO  A police pursuit Thursday in Escondido ended in a rollover crash when the driver of an electric company box truck lost control of the vehicle and struck a power pole, authorities said. The pursuit began about 4:40 p.m. when an off-duty San Diego police lieutenant driving home from work saw the truck strike a curb several times in Escondido, according to San Diego police Officer Darius Jamsetjee. The lieutenant was driving a department vehicle that was unmarked, but had lights and sirens, Jamsetjee said Friday. The lieutenant activated those lights and sirens to try to stop the work truck.
