Celebrities including Jim Broadbent and David Walliams have joined forces to encourage everyone to get their coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines in a new uplifting film released today (Saturday 3rd July). Â
Set to the toe-tapping tune The Rhythm of Life, written by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields, from the 1966 classic musical, Sweet Charity, and donated by the Cy Coleman estate, the heart-warming film will celebrate the success of the vaccination programme in supporting the easing of restrictions as outlined in the roadmap.

(PA) Comedian David Walliams and actor Jim Broadbent are among a host of celebrities who have come together to encourage Brits to get their Covid-19 vaccine. A new film campaign set to the tune The Rhythm Of Life from the 1966 musical Sweet Charity first sees Broadbent enter an empty theatre before celebrities including Walliams, actors Asa Butterfield, Colin Salmon, Derek Jacobi and Don Warrington, and singer Nicola Roberts take to the stage to perform the song. The song is being used with the permission of the estate of Cy Coleman, who wrote it with Dorothy Fields.

The Girls Aloud star, from Runcorn, has starred in a new film encouraging the uptake of the Covid-19 jab alongside the likes of comedian David Walliams and actor Jim Broadbent. In the video, Harry Potter star Broadbent enters an empty theatre before Roberts, Walliams and actors Derek Jacobi, Don Warrington, Asa Butterfield and Colin Salmon take to the stage to sing the Rhythm of Life from the musical Sweet Charity. As they dance, Butterfield calls on viewers to ‘get that vaccine’ while Warrington says ‘I’ve had mine’ and Broadbent adds ‘just get that vaccine’.
