Renesas collaborates with Microsoft to speed up connected vehicle development Renesas has revealed that it is collaborating with Microsoft in order to accelerate the development of connected vehicles.
Renesasâ R-Car Starter Kit, based on its R-Car automotive system-on-chip (SoC), is now available as a development environment for the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP). The MCVP combines a partner ecosystem with a horizontal platform of Azure cloud, AI and edge services on top of which mobility companies can build customer-facing solutions. Renesas has also been certified for Azure IoT Hub and Azure IoT Edge.
MCVP helps mobility companies accelerate the delivery of digital services across vehicle provisioning, two-way network connectivity, and continuous over-the-air updates of containerized functionality. Within the Renesas development environment, customers can use MCVP components and Renesas Board Support Package (BSP) in addition to multime
Accelerated ADAS and automated driving development with open and scalable platform
Renesas Electronics Corporation has released the R-Car V3U, a best-in-class ASIL D SoC for ADAS and AD systems. Producing a groundbreaking 60 TOPS with low power consumption for deep learning processing and up to 96,000 DMIPS, the solution is created for the performance, safety, and scalability (up and down) needs of ADAS and AD architectures driving next-generation autonomous vehicles.
The new solution is the first SoC employing the R-Car Gen 4 architecture within the company s open and flexible autonomy platform for ADAS and AD. With the launch of the solution, the platform is now prepared to provide complete scalability from entry-level NCAP applications up to highly automated driving systems.
