Members of Maynooth/Kilcock Lions Club recently bought and installed defibrillators on shop fronts in the centre of nine Kildare towns and villages.
The new AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) are located at Allenwood, Celbridge, Coill Dubh, Derrinturn, Donadea, Johnstownbridge, Kilcock, Maynooth, and Prosperous. A further device will be installed in Leixlip.
The lifesaving equipment is housed in a weatherproof and vandal resistant cabinet. A keycode for access in an emergency can be given by shop staff or the emergency services.

ROYALSTON The CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security) Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump in March 2020, provided $150 billion to state and local government to help offset costs incurred as a result of the pandemic. The town of Royalston has used a portion of its allocation to purchase life-saving equipment that has been distributed throughout the community.
The Wear Red for Women Luncheon raises money to buy and put Automated External Defibrillators in every place people work, learn, play or pray in Sedalia. While also increasing awareness about heart disease in women.
Usually the luncheon is an event for people to gather together, support the goal of placing AED s throughout Sedalia and learning about heart health while enjoying a lunch with friends. This year, most of that will remain, except you ll be picking up your lunch and logging in to enjoy the presentation and participate in the online / mobile auction.
The event is scheduled for Friday February 26 with lunch pick from the Ivory Grill scheduled from 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM CST and the virtual program starting at 12:15 PM CST.

AVON LAKE, Ohio The Avon Lake Public Library (ALPL) is a gem in the city and worthy of a long celebration to commemorate its 90th anniversary.
What started from humble beginnings in February 1931 in a small house near the current high school building has evolved over the years and continues to serve the community even during a pandemic.
I would like you to meet Ross Salvo. Ross was a Boy Scout in Troop 770 in Newtown when he tragically lost his life two years ago. Even though Ross was born with disabilities, he was a fighter and never let his disabilities overpower him.

According to a post from the Newtown Police Department, his mom and dad were involved in the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which made a huge impression on Ross as he was growing up. He spent countless hours with paramedics and EMTs inside ambulance buildings and even took part in EMS education. He absolutely loved being a part of the ambulance corps.
