Matthew McConaughey has built quite the resume for himself. He’s an Academy Award-winning actor, a professor and a New York Times bestselling author, but there’s a possibility he’s not done collecting titles yet.
The Wrap reports that on Wednesday, McConaughey told the hosts of the Balanced Voice podcast that he’s giving “true consideration” to a Texas gubernatorial bid when he was asked about his interest in running for office. “I’m looking into that again,” the actor said.
The Simpsons Voice Actor Hank Azaria Finally Apologizes For Apu Part of me feels like I need to go to every single Indian person in this country and personally apologize. And sometimes I do.
The Problem With Apu, explored how The Simpsons character perpetuates South Asian stereotypes and launched a larger conversation about whitewashing and racist voice casting that has boiled into the mainstream over the last few years. I can’t get over that ridiculous voice that’s unrealistic and goofy and the setting he’s in and the fact that there are about ten jokes that repeat themselves, like gods with multiple heads and arms, curry, the Kwik-E-Mart, go to the Himalayas, Kondabolu told me at the time. For most of The Simpsons s 30-plus years on TV, Apu was a fixture of the series, voiced by white actor Hank Azaria. Now, four years later, after stepping away from the role in early 2020, Azaria has apologized for the harm this character caused the South Asian community.
While the press mocked, Greg romped.
Although he has been a fixture on Fox News for years, the announcement that Greg Gutfeld was being given a regular time slot on weeknights generated reactions from those outside the Fox News orbit. Anyone familiar with the news channel probably considered this a modest piece of news, as Gutfeld has been on a number of shows across the schedule. But the announcement was met with unified rebukes from those on the left.
A number of journalists and entertainers have been responding to the debut this week, and it is consistently critical. Upon the announcement in February, Brian Stelter was critical, making the judgment that placing Gurfeld in the 11 pm time slot was somehow a sign of the channel entrenching its bias.
