Residents: Replace not repeal controversial land-development rule

Thomas Faulkner pleads no contest to crimes involving child porn

A Topeka man has pleaded no contest to crimes involving child pornography. Thomas Faulkner, 21, entered that plea March 24 to two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child involving possession of media of a child, according to Shawnee County District Court records. The State believes this a fair and just resolution to this case, special prosecutor Brandon Jones told The Capital-Journal in an email Monday. Jones, who is county attorney for Anderson and Osage counties, filed a complaint Nov. 4 in Shawnee County District Court charging Faulkner with 13 counts of possessing video of sexually explicit conduct involving a child under 18 years old, or a person Faulkner thought to be a child under 18 years old.
