City reports increase of 32 COVID-19 cases from Thursday

In Friday s COVID-19 report card, the last report card of the week released by the city of Amarillo s public health department, a total increase of 32 COVID-19 cases in Potter and Randall counties was reported from Thursday, bringing the area s total to 33,239 cases since the start of the pandemic. Of the total, 526 are active, which is a decrease of four net active cases from Thursday. There have been 32,024 recoveries, an increase of 70 recoveries from Thursday, and 689 deaths related to the virus, which is no change from Thursday.  As of Friday, there have been 242,602 conducted COVID-19 tests reported to the public health department, four of which are pending. Friday s report card also shows that Trauma Service Area A is recording a 4.46% COVID-19 hospitalization rate as of Thursday, recorded daily by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
