The Ford government is under fire like never before after its stunning weekend backtracks as Ontario’s Liberal Leader calls on the Premier to resign as soon as possible.
After a politically disastrous weekend for the provincial government, house leader Paul Calandra came as about as close as you can get to issuing an apology at Queen’s Park.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle says he fully supports closing off Ontario to non-essential outsiders as a way to help stamp out COVID-19.
The 72-year-old, fresh off receiving his first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Friday afternoon at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit clinic at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition’s Coliseum building, said it’s time to get serious about the virus and get rid of it for good.
“I think it’s a good idea,” Gravelle said. “Obviously we’ve seen cases related to travel here in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario. Those are generally people probably coming in from Toronto by airplane perhaps.

The requests come after a contentious week for Premier Doug Ford’s government and its vaccination campaign.
Opposition parties on Monday criticized the government over its selection process for “hot spot” postal codes now being prioritized during the rollout, and raised alarm Wednesday over thousands of cancelled vaccine appointments in Scarborough, Ont., which contains multiple hot spot postal codes.
At a news conference Thursday morning, Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca said he will request a full examination of the province’s vaccination campaign. On Tuesday, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath wrote to auditor general Bonnie Lysyk to request a review of how the government chose the hot spot postal codes.
