Wetumpka teen killed in Lowndes County car crash Updated Apr 04, 2021; A sixteen-year-old was killed in a car crash in Lowndes County Saturday evening, according to authorities. Cassandra Hill, 50, also of Wetumpka, attempted to cross U.S. 80 about 13 miles north of Hayneville around 8:53 p.m. Saturday. Her 2015 Chevrolet Camaro collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Deborah Brown, a 48-year-old Selma resident, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said. The teen, whose name has not been released, was a passenger in Hill’s Camaro. The teen was taken to a hospital but succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced dead.
