RCCG House of Faith will move into Towne Center complex
NORTH BRUNSWICK – Representatives of the RCCG House of Faith have signed a lease with Hidden Lake Towne Center LLC for space at 245 Towne Center Drive in the Hidden Lake section of North Brunswick.
The three existing buildings totaling 13,500 square feet are in a Planned Unit Development zone, which allows for a house of worship.
RCCG is proposing to convert an empty construction sales office in Building 4 into a worship center, totaling 2,200 square feet. No variance is required.
“They are looking to move into an existing space,” Rosalind Westlake, the applicant’s attorney, said during the North Brunswick Planning Board meeting on Feb. 9. “They are not looking to make any changes of any kind” aside from some interior work.
Rivers Casino in Des Plaines could get bigger in the future. Chicago-based Midwest Gaming and Entertainment has requested an amendment to the original casino Planned Unit Development to allow for construction of a two-story addition to its existing building. Midwest Gaming is also asking for other “various site adjustments” at the 140,000 sq. ft. casino building located at 3000 River Rd., near Rosemont. Des Plaines Community Development Director Mike McMahon told the Journal & Topics Tuesday (Feb. 9) city staff is working to put the request on the Feb. 23 Planning & Zoning Board agenda. After Planning & Zoning Board discussion, City Council would also weigh in on the proposal before plans could move forward. Aldermen previously approved a request for expansion of the Rivers Casino parking garage by 719 spaces and additional signage in late 2019.
Planning Commission Recommends 2 Ooltewah Residential Projects For Approval Tuesday, February 9, 2021 - by Gail Perry Two new, large housing developments in Ooltewah were given a recommendation to move forward by the Planning Commission on Monday.
A 46.4-acre property at 7210 Snowhill Road was rezoned from A-1, agricultural district to R-1, single family residential district with no opposition. Pratt and Associates was approved for a Planned Unit Development of 137 units at the location which is compatible with the Wolftever Creek land use plan. That larger plan, however, has low density, so the Regional Planning Agency staff put conditions on the development that require that it be surrounded by a landscaped buffer. Mike Price, owner of MPA Engineers¸ said a 10-foot buffer is planned along Snowhill Road as well as the north and south boundaries. The buffers will be planted with trees spaced 25 feet apart.
