Two men fell through the Lake Huron ice into the water off of Huron County this afternoon in separate incidents, with the Huron County Sheriff reminding residents of the dangers of being on the ice.
On Tuesday afternoon, Huron Central Dispatch received two emergency calls about people breaking through the ice and were in the water.
The first call came in at roughly 4:30 p.m. with a man in the water near the Geiger Road public access in Fairhaven Township. People were able to hear the man’s screams, eventually locate him, and pull him out.

This weekend the Tribune will publish its annual Love in the Thumb section, where we showcase couples throughout the area. This year we reached out to some of the couples and asked them to participate in a Q&A for Insiders.
Ryan and Stacie Morrish were nominated by their daughter McKenzie Morrish. After 20 years of marriage, the couple’s family has grown to include three children, McKenzie, Austin, and Karlie, and two grandchildren, Paisley and Colton.
“In my opinion, they are one of the best examples of love and a good relationship,” McKenzie said.
